Advent Lutheran Church of Anoka

Advent Quilters' Corner

COME ONE, COME ALL….FOR SEWING, FUN, AND GREAT FELLOWSHIP

Our Advent Quilting Ministry is a gathering of dynamic women and men who share their gifts of sewing and quilting.   We gather at 9 am.   Mid-morning we have a break for fellowship and relaxation and finish projects by noon.   Currently, we have nine people that come faithfully on Wednesdays.  In addition we have several members who work at home faithfully providing tops, liners, and backs, keeping us busy!

This is a wonderful ministry whose quilts provide a meaningful and tangible way to experience God’s love wrapped around recipients.   This year our goal is to donate 180 quilts.  The Quilting Ministry provides quilts to many organizations, accessing those most in need, in Anoka County.  These organizations include the Children’s Crisis, ACBC Food, Women’s Shelter, and homeless families.  We also contribute quilts to Global World Relief who distribute them worldwide.  It is a great feeling to help so many people by using our gift of sewing.  We are always open to new members!  So if you have an interest in helping, sewing, quilting, and fun and fellowship we are waiting for YOU!  For more information contact the church office at 763-421-8990 or just come to quilt.

Meeting:  September thru May on Wednesday mornings from 9 am to noon in the Fellowship Hall.
